Bringing together young leaders from the diverse Sydney Muslim community, it will be the Muslim youth event to kick start the year, open to both brothers and sisters. This event will seek to address the most pertinent question: What is the role of the Muslim youth in a context like ours?
The team behind Nahda present to you the first such event, conjointly held with leading Muslim Student Associations from some of Sydney’s biggest universities, for the wider Muslim community…

I have recently graduated from the HSC and am planning to start university along with daar aisha inshAllah. I am very interested in this event regarding “the role of the muslim youth” and would love to have the opportunity to be a part of it. Is there anything i might be able to do? I assure you that inshAllah i have a keen and wide perspective regarding the issues that our muslim youth are experiencing especialyl because i have come from an islamic schooling background.

The above event is gonna be hektik. I mean its about one of the most interesting and important topics, where would u start:
– peer pressure
– remaining steadfast
– dealing with challenges and ‘fitan’ of the west
– the hardening of hearts
– the need for Allah’s love to be planted firmly in our hearts in order to abstain from that which He prohibited

Since my role in all this is giving dawah and inviting all to the way of Allah, I will be attending to see how does Nahda intends to teach our muslims youth to behave and give dawah in the west.

Well well well if it isnt sis Ras! lol we’re turning this into a forum…on that note, can i just add that events like this are excellent…i just came back from an event organised by Bayt-al-zakat honouring the muslim high achievers, and i can tell you mashAllah there are some great muslims out there. Events like the one that Nahda is currently organised is perfect as it will give us (youth) the opportunity to implement the knowledge we attain in our tertiary studies for the benefit of the wider ummah rather than self benefit. It will pass on the inspiration and skills in achieving a balance b/w deen and donya whereby we can learn how to work to make everything in our donya for the sake of our deen and hereafter.
Look forward to going a lot and hearing back from Nahda!

The unity that we are all witnessing with this event is lovely. We should all aim to unite, because then we can make this world a better place. Our hearts must hold tight onto each other so that we never forget that we are all brothers and sisters in Islam. And then we can stand tall together, and look forward to a happier world.

Hmm… Im cautiously optimistic about this event. There have many plans for grand events, but many have been underwhelming to say the least. InshaAllah, this will be as massive as everyone anticipates, and hopefully it will go well. Look out for massive things from nahda…
